RENDEZVOUS 2006 – Report
Cowes Yacht Haven and The Island Sailing Club,
West Cowes, Isle of Wight
8th – 10th September 2006
 

The eleventh Legend Owners rendezvous kicked off to a flying start with a champagne reception on the pontoon on Friday 8th September. Let’s face it, we started as we meant to go on.

With a record 32 boats attending and a packed weekend schedule, Commodore Steve Parry and Rear-Commodore Di made sure there was something for everyone. As usual, there was the much anticipated fun race. (Did anyone tell the guys it was only fun!!). We also had the man-over-board manoeuvre demonstrated by Ghostly Goose, with a poor unfortunate bucket decapitated (or whatever you do to a bucket), dinghy races for adults and children alike and the very popular ‘crabathon’ run enthusiastically by Chris Trott (Click here for photos).

Saturday evening and we took over The Island Sailing Club for an excellent meal, drinking, chatting and dancing (photos).

During the evening Don Alexander organised the price giving for the Fun Race (see result tables and Photos) followed by raffles organised by Mike Sand, and charity auction by Paul Howard (see Photos).

It was a great weekend, with lovely weather and plenty of opportunity for catching up with old friends and making new ones.

It really doesn’t get much better than this!!! A big thank you to everyone involved.

WHAT WAS ON WHEN!!!

·        Friday & Saturday night will be spent at Cowes Yacht Haven, West Cowes. Please pay berthing fees at Marina office.

·        Friday early evening Champagne Reception on the pontoon.

·        Friday night evening meal / get together at the Fastnet Restaurant over looking the Marina (meals & drinks not provided in the price)

·        Fun Race on Saturday (start time and course to be advised)

·        Dinghy “Games” for both Children & Adults

·        Suppliers technicians on the pontoons providing technical help and assistance

·        Saturday night dinner, prize giving, charity raffle and dancing at The Island Sailing Club (Some wine will be provided however drinks and further wine to be paid for separately)

·        Sunday Morning breakfast and get together in the Fastnet Restaurant over looking the Marina and depart

All Food drink and entertainment will be provided in the price except where noted above. Marina fees are excluded and should be paid direct to the Marina Office. If you cannot come by boat then accommodation is available locally.
