Breezy Rally at Yarmouth 2004
THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN
While some prudently took note of the mention of winds going up to Force 7 -
justified by the Yarmouth lifeboat going out on a shout and the sight of a
Bavaria alongside the wall with a major kink in its boom - others could not
resist the allure of an LOA Rally, especially at Yarmouth. Many of "the usual
suspects" were present but there were other fresh, if not new faces. We were
graced by a visit by Jim, Rona and Mathew - who used land transport, as did Paul
Benstead and Christine, who stayed for the meal. The rain cleared for the
evening, which helped, and though there was plenty of wind on Sunday morning,
for most it was downhill so not much to worry about. At one stage there were 18
possible boats planning to come but in the end it was the magnificent seven. The
forecast for next weekend at Poole sound rather better; see you there?
