Legends4Sale

www.Legends4Sale.co.uk this will soon feature a variety of legends for sale from the LOA membership.  What can be nicer than buying from someone you know in the LOA, or selling it to someone in the LOA who you know will give her a good home ?

There will be a (modest) charge for this service but it's a great chance for you to really show off your boat in words and pictures in the way YOU would like her to be represented, which can include a lot more relevant and important detail than you could get by advertising through a broker, or a small ad in a magazine

If you are selling your boat all they need from you (via Email, on a CD, or whatever) is:

  1. Gallery of digital pictures. The more the better. Don't worry about re-sizing or re-touching them, we can take care of that and optimise them for the web, as well as cropping and re-touching, editing out stuff in the foreground or background, etc
    1. Various interior pics (espec those of any particular feature(s) you want to show off)
    2. Various exterior pics. On a mooring, a marina berth, at anchor, underway (preferably under sail, etc
    3. anything else you think would add to her appeal
  2. A Full set of specifications and inventory of the boat and everything you plan to leave aboard when you sell her. Don't forget to include :
    1. number of engine hours
    2. last serviced (and what was done)
    3. date of last rig-checks (if applicable)
    4. date of last survey (if applicable)
  3. Some history of improvements, modifications, etc that may have been done
  4. A floor-plan of your boat, of the type you see in adverts provided by brokers and Luhrs web-sites, etc ( we can probably get this if you are unable to) .
  5. Any reviews (or web-links) of your boat type that may be available on the web
  6. Your contact details, day/eves telephone number, email

Have a look at the site for Kindred Spirit that has been created and see if you like the ideas that are behind it.

We can create sites using a variety of colour schemes, layouts, etc if required.

All that sellers then need to do is take out the cheapest possible advert in the usual places on the web and in PBO, Sailing Today, Yachting Monthly, etc with a link back to the site.

"I used this method to sell my previous boat, and I was still getting enquiries a year after I had sold her !" Mike O'Donoghue
